My desire to help people and impact lives led me to study Medicine, however I soon learnt that as doctors we often harm more than we heal. Specialising in Pharmaceutical Medicine reinforced this, as I learnt about the many ways we introduce adverse effects by the drugs we prescribe to our patients.

As my journey through Life and Medicine progressed, I saw on a daily basis how medical practitioners focus their healing mainly on the physical aspects of a person, often ignoring the other equally important aspects (including the mental, emotional, psychological, social & spiritual parts) which make us human.

I felt there was something basic lacking in these conventional medical practises and the manner in which we treated patients.  Even before qualifying as a medical doctor the complementary facets of healing intrigued me and I soon discovered the gentle, healing practices of Reiki and Meditation.

After qualifying as a doctor, I experienced even more clearly how often we put a plaster on superficial wounds without taking the time to address the deeper, hidden, underlying causes of the many illnesses afflicting our patients.

As a result of this I wished to study other healing modalities to further develop my understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection, so that I could more positively impact the lives of my patients and those around me. My sense of adventure and thirst for knowledge led me around the globe, where I attended several complementary and holistic courses.

I studied Reiki, became a Reiki Master and was introduced to Primordial Sound Meditation at a course led by Dr. Deepak Chopra & the late Dr. David Simon (founding members of the Chopra Centre). Their teachings resonated with me as they blended Eastern and Western Medicine, the physiology and scientific basis of meditation, and introducing the scientific research available on meditation to me.

After experiencing firsthand the benefits of this type of meditation, I registered to become a Primordial Sound Meditation Instructor as I wanted people to rediscover peace, happiness and calm in their lives like I did, by introducing this type of meditation technique to them.

Although I currently still work in the medical field, I am more passionate than ever about holistic and complementary health & healing practices.

I reside in Cape Town, South Africa and am committed to helping others achieve balance, happiness and peace in their often frenetic lives, by teaching these techniques in South Africa and abroad.

Drs. Deepak Chopra and David Simon founded the Chopra Centre for Well-being in Carlsbad, California, to offer individuals from around the world programs in stress management, mind-body medicine, emotional healing, and life transformation. They have both practiced and taught the fusion of Ayurveda with modern science for over 35 years.
